About Me
Having lived in a large council estate just outside Portsmouth for the first 18 years of my life, I found my garden as a source of inspiration and enjoyment. After moving into the city and out of the family home I frequently visit the beach, parks and surrounding country parks and woods to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. By experiencing nature first hand, I am further inspired to create experimental paintings that echo the unpredictable rhythm of the natural world. I am very interested in the small worlds within nature; I find the surface colours and textures to be exciting and ever changing and I try to create an intensified and intimate response to my experience with the goal of making these small worlds extravagant enough that people have no choice but to recognise the beauty in what often goes unseen.
